We look forward to welcoming you to The Residence at Homewood

What to bring

We want your arrival and intake experience to be as smooth and reassuring as possible. We are here to help you find your best way forward at every step.

Here are some of the essentials you’ll want to bring with you to The Residence:

  • Your provincial health card
  • One additional piece of photo ID
  • Two to three days’ worth of your medications
  • Weather-appropriate clothing and shoes
  • A pair of athletic shoes 
  • A week’s worth of clothing, including comfortable exercise or yoga wear*
  • Grooming and toiletry items
  • Insect repellent and sunscreen (non-aerosol only) for outdoor activities
  • Disposable razors (no straight razors or razors with removable blades)
  • Reading materials
  • MP3 player and headphones
  • Personal items such as family photos
  • Mobility aids if needed (cane, walker, wheelchair, scooter)

*Complementary laundry with supplies onsite

What not to bring

We strive to create a relaxed atmosphere where residents can slow down, feel at home and begin to heal. To help us maintain a supportive environment where everyone can feel welcome and safe, we ask you not to bring any of these items to The Residence:

  • Do not bring any tobacco-related, smoking, or vaping products. This includes: cigarettes, cigars, pipes, chewing tobacco, snuff, cigarillos, water pipes, e-cigarettes, vaporizers, lighters, and matches. If these items are brought to the facility they will be disposed of.
  • No alcohol, illegal substances, and non-prescribed drugs
  • No clothing with logos or phrases about dieting, food, exercise, alcohol or drug use, gambling, politics, or sexually suggestive, offensive or provocative content (including beer logos, references to drugs, etc.)
  • No clothing that depicts gangs or criminal related materials
  • No scrubs or uniforms, including fatigues, camouflage, and military-issue clothing
  • No personal bedding, pillows or mattresses
