Recovery Management is an approach to treatment aftercare where support services guide and enhance recovery maintenance, and quality of life in long-term recovery. Recovery Management aims to increase clients’ self-efficacy to effectively manage their home life, work life, social life and any other transitions while recovering from addiction and mental health issues.
Developing skills in treatment at The Residence is vital to sustained recovery. The following modalities will be central to clients’ skills acquisition and integral to managing recovery:
• Dialectical Behavioural Therapy
• Cognitive Behavioural Therapy
• Mindfulness
• Relapse Prevention Therapy
• Lifestyle change (e.g. physical activity, sleep, social support, etc.)
The Recovery Management Program is designed to support clients’ ongoing recovery after completing inpatient treatment at The Residence. The goal of this program is to help clients manage their mental health and addiction, and maintain healthy lifestyle changes while they return to life at home. Just as treatment is individualized to each client’s treatment needs, the Recovery Management Program is tailored to support their recovery goals.
The components of the program include:
• Telephone check-in calls
• Weekly group(s)
• Individual sessions
Clients who are eligible* for the program will be paired with a Recovery Management Therapist who is best suited to support their needs. To facilitate the transition home, clients will meet their therapist several times throughout their stay at The Residence.
*Clients are encouraged to speak to their Treatment Consultant about their eligibility for this program.
