Dr. Kerris DelRosario
Psychologist, The Residence
Dr. DelRosario is a clinical psychologist specializing in both long- and short-term therapy using a variety of modalities, such as cognitive-behavioural therapy, psycho-dynamic psychotherapy and emotionally focused therapy. Dr. DelRosario is The Residence’s in-house Psychologist and will be working with all clients from assessment to aftercare. Her empathic, supportive approach is combined with both symptom-focused and deeper interventions (including those of a psychodynamic and attachment-based nature).
A native of Southwestern Ontario, Dr. DelRosario completed her Honours Bachelor of Science in Psychology at McMaster University in Hamilton and received her Ph.D. in clinical psychology from Rosemead School of Psychology at Biola University in La Mirada, California. Her experience includes post-doctoral Supervised Practice at Lighthouse Psychological and Counselling Services in Kitchener, Ontario, a pre-doctoral internship at Switzer Learning Centre in Torrance, California, as well as a Supervised Clinical Practicum at Harbor UCLA Medical Centre in Torrance, California.
Her work has been published in major scientific journals and she has presented at several international conventions and conferences. Her research interests include cross-cultural psychology and gender role issues, especially in relation to spiritual integration. She currently serves as an Adjunct Faculty member at the Waterloo Regional Campus of McMaster University’s medical school, supervising psychiatry residents in the provision of emotion-focused psychotherapy. Dr. DelRosario has extensive graduate-level training and clinical experience helping clients integrate their faith into their psychological healing and growth.
Outside of her professional roles, Dr. DelRosario enjoys spending time at home and travelling with her family, participating in community activities, and balancing her scientific side with various creative outlets.
