Michelle Nogueira, RSSW, CAC II, CPGC, IGDC

Psychotherapist, Recovery Management Coordinator, The Residence

Michelle Nogueira is the Coordinator of the Recovery Management Program (RMP). She has been in the addiction and mental health field for 36 years. She is registered with the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers and has achieved certifications in gambling, gaming and addictions. She is also a Certified Digital Wellness Educator and is passionate about promoting digital wellness through mindfulness.

She was instrumental in launching the Recovery Management Program and continues to drive the program’s innovation and growth. Her experience in program development ensures robust programming options to support clients’ individualized needs.

She is genuine, energetic, kind and understanding. Her approach is a blend of evidence-based interventions, including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Unified Protocol, Mindfulness, Dialectical Behavioural Therapy, Relapse Prevention Therapy, Mindfulness-Based Relapse Prevention, Transtheoretical Model of Change and Motivational Enhancement Therapy.

She co-authored the book My Parents Aren’t NOOBS! and was published in the Journal of Behavioral Addictions.

She is also an Instructor at Wilfrid Laurier University. She teaches Understanding Relapse Prevention, Mindfulness-Based Relapse Prevention (MBRP) and Behavioural Addictions: Gambling, Gaming and Technology Overuse.
