Dr. Kam Balchand is a psychiatrist who brings almost two decades of clinical experience treating adults with mental health conditions and addictions. He is passionate about empathic, client-centred care, rooted in the idea that relationships are vital to our wellbeing. He is dedicated to integrated treatment that addresses both biological and psychological factors using evidence-based approaches.
Dr. Balchand completed his medical training at the University of Toronto, psychiatric training at the University of Manitoba, and a fellowship in addiction psychiatry at Yale University. He moved to Guelph and joined Homewood in 2018. He is currently an Assistant Clinical Professor (Adjunct) in the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioural Neurosciences at McMaster University.
