Working at the Homewood Health Centre and specializing in mental health, she provided years of direct patient care before taking on combined clinical and administrative responsibilities in Homewood’s Intake Services Department.

The Residence
As the Treatment Consultant for The Residence at Homewood, Paul brings over 25 years of mental health and addictions experience and is the client’s initial contact to explore the benefits the program can offer. With extensive experience in emergency psychiatry, Paul will help assess individual treatment needs and goals to facilitate a seamless admission into the program. As the former director, Paul is well suited to answer any questions clients have about the program and what to expect during their stay.

Dr. Ben McCutchen is the medical director at The Residence. He is a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada and completed both his undergraduate medical degree and postgraduate psychiatry training at the Michael G. DeGroote School of Medicine at McMaster University. Prior to joining The Residence, he worked on the Trillium Acute Care Program for Crisis Support at Homewood Health Centre in Guelph, Ontario.

Dr. Rachel Lyon is a Clinical Psychologist and a Registered Member of the College of Psychologists of Ontario. She received her doctorate in Clinical Psychology from Ryerson University and completed her residency training at the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health in the Borderline Personality Disorder Clinic and Psychological Trauma Program. Before joining The Residence as a staff psychologist, Dr. Lyon worked within the Eating Disorders Program and was the Psychology Discipline Lead at Homewood Health Centre.

Sonia brings 17 years of experience to her role as Addictions Counsellor at The Residence. She supports clients’ personal recovery by creating and guiding them through a continuum of care that combines program services to meet their specific needs. Sonia uses a variety of approaches and techniques to help people achieve and maintain sobriety while focusing on living their lives today. Sonia is a Registered Psychotherapist (RP), an International Certified Alcohol & Drug Counsellor (ICADC).

Monika Grau is a Registered Psychotherapist and Registered Member of Therapeutic Recreation Ontario who worked as a recreation therapist at the Homewood Health Centre for more than 24 years. Monika brings her passion for supporting people in their recovery journey to the team at The Residence at Homewood where she uses a client-centered, collaborative approach to treatment that can involve mindfulness, cognitive behavioural therapy, dialectical behavioural therapy and/or motivational interviewing.

Kyla Renaud is a Registered Social Worker whose work at The Residence at Homewood includes delivering a range of modalities of treatment including cognitive behavioural therapy, cognitive processing therapy, dialectical behavioural therapy and motivational interviewing. As a graduate of Wilfrid Laurier University, Kyla’s Master of Social Work studies focused on the care and support of individuals, families, and groups with a special interest in working with the young adult population.

Funmi Oyediran is a member of both the College of Nurses of Ontario and the Registered Nurses Association of Ontario. An academic background in chemistry gives Funmi a strong scientific foundation for her career in nursing which began when she completed her Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree at McMaster University. An award-winning student, she began working in a variety of settings including medicine, surgery, geriatrics, intensive care, public health and mental health.

Amanda Brunning is a Registered Nurse who earned her nursing degree from McMaster University and is certified in psychiatric and mental health nursing. An active member of the Canadian Nurses Association, Amanda has worked with Homewood Health for nearly a decade and a half in a variety of capacities. During that time, she has built a strong track record of exceptional care in the Eating Disorders Program, Substance Abuse and Trauma Safety Program, Assessment Stabilization Unit and Comprehensive Psychiatric Care.

Loriann has been a nurse for 33 years and has worked at Homewood for 20 years. She brings extensive experience to The Residence. She has worked in Homewood’s Eating Disorder Program, PTSR program, Crisis and Comprehensive Psychiatric Care. Her knowledge background encompasses CBT, DBT, and crisis intervention. Loriann’s focus is to support patients in optimizing their treatment experience at The Residence. She works collaboratively with the treatment team to help patients succeed with their goals.

Meredith Ross is a Registered Practical Nurse and a graduate of Mohawk College. With a diverse professional history that includes time working in acute mental health, medical/surgical units and palliative care, Meredith has dedicated herself more recently to working in mental health settings. She joined the Homewood Health Centre team in 2017 as a member of the Comprehensive Psychiatric Care staff and joined the staff at The Residence a year later.

A graduate of Conestoga College Nursing Program, Jody joined the PTSR unit of the Homewood Health Centre in 2015. She has also worked in other units including Addiction Medicine and Comprehensive Psychiatric Care. Prior to coming to Homewood, Jody’s nursing experience included pediatrics and community nursing. She is passionate about providing personalized, quality care for patients during their recovery process.

Kim is the Sous Chef at The Residence. She is responsible for menu planning and preparing nutritious meals for clients. Prior to joining The Residence, Kim was a Nutrition Aide with Homewood Health. Working now with The Residence Executive Chef, Kim maintains a high level of service and commitment to creating healthy, flavourful dishes.

Chris Seftel is Certified Fitness Trainer (CFT) and Certified Nutrition Coach (CNC) through ISSA and Precision Nutrition (PN1). ISSA (International Sports Science Association College of Sports Exercise) is an international leader in fitness education. PN1 (Precision Nutrition) is known as “the home of the world’s top nutrition coaches” working with professions athletes from all over the world.
