Monika Grau is a Registered Psychotherapist and Professional Art Therapist. She has worked in the field of mental health at Homewood Health Centre for more than 25 years. Throughout her career, Monika has demonstrated proficiency in both individual and group therapy settings, specializing in the treatment of eating disorders and crisis management care.
Through art therapy, Monika combines psychotherapy and the creative process of supporting individuals explore personal issues and express thoughts and feelings. Monika’s collaborative approach is based on the constructs of Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy and Motivational Interviewing strategies.
Monika is a graduate from the University of Waterloo with an Honors Bachelor of Arts Degree. She also attended the Toronto Art Therapy Institute (TATI), earning a graduate-level diploma in Art Therapy. She is a professional member of the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario and the Canadian Art Therapy Association. An artist herself, she prides herself on combining nature, community and creativity to provide a safe environment to work with clients on their individual goals.
